When I began this quest to climb six of the highest mountains within one year, I knew the challenge would be a difficult one. We set out to redefine adventure in a way that engages a global audience to take action against human trafficking. In spite of all the many obstacles Mother Nature has put in our way - the Nepal earthquake, the Everest avalanche, and one of the worst climbing seasons resulting in Pakistan and Tibet being closed to climbers this fall - I remain steadfast in our fight against human trafficking.
While climbing six mountains within this year is no longer attainable, I will be climbing Manaslu, the world's eighth highest peak, in the next several weeks, to show that perseverance, on any level, will win this battle.
I have been lifted up by the prayers and support of our many partners and hope that my story will inspire others to Be Brave! and stand up against the tragedy of human trafficking. Our battle is just beginning.
